Rugby League Commercial has agreed a two-year partnership extension with train operator Northern.
The renewal ensures the collaboration will run until the end of 2027, extending the relationship beyond a decade. Northern has retained its designation as the official sustainable train travel partner, with a continued strategic focus on sustainability and reducing the sport’s carbon footprint by encouraging fans to use public transport.
Under the new agreement, Northern’s partnership rights have expanded to include the Women’s Super League and Wheelchair Super League, alongside the men’s competition. Northern will continue to engage with the grassroots game through kit and equipment competitions and the sponsorship of the Community Try of the Month.
Rhodri Jones, Managing Director at RL Commercial, said, “We are incredibly proud to extend our partnership with Northern for a further two seasons, taking our relationship beyond a decade by the end of 2027. Northern’s long-standing commitment to Rugby League goes far beyond the elite men’s game, and the expansion of this partnership to include the Women’s and Wheelchair Super Leagues is a powerful statement of shared values.
“Alongside their continued support of the community game and sustainable travel, Northern are a partner that genuinely helps our sport reach more people in more meaningful ways.”
