UEFA has announced the extension of Gazprom’s partnership of the UEFA Champions League, running from 2018 through until at least 2021.
The extension will see UEFA continue its relationship with the energy company, which began in 2012. The agreement also includes sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
As an official partner of the European club competition, Gazprom will continue to utilise its association with the UEFA Champions League to bring fans closer to the game.
Commenting on the agreement, Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA events SA marketing director, said: “Gazprom has been a valued partner of the UEFA Champions League since we joined forces in 2012, and we are delighted that we will be continuing our relationship for another three seasons.
“Not only is Gazprom a leader in its field, it also has a long heritage in football. We look forward to developing our relationship as we enter a new UEFA Champions League cycle.”
This is the sixth partnership announcement for the 2018-21 sponsorship sales process for the UEFA Champions League, with Heineken, Nissan, PepsiCo and Mastercard signing new deals, while Santander has joined as a new partner.
