As we celebrate the milestone 25th edition of The Sport Industry Awards, we remain committed to delivering an event that is as environmentally responsible as it is prestigious.
Following a detailed review of our 2025 Awards, we identified key areas of environmental impact and opportunities to evolve our approach. This year, we are building on those learnings, placing greater emphasis on measurement, accountability, and meaningful action.
Sustainability is no longer a side conversation within sport – it is central to its future. The Sport Industry Awards is proud to play its role in championing more responsible practices across the industry.

SEASONAL, SUSTAINABLE PRODUCE
For this year’s awards menu, we’ve taken a considered step towards a more environmentally conscious approach by replacing beef with lamb from Devon and Cornwall, sourced under a special Protected Geographical Indication status that guarantees its origin and provenance within the region.
This ensures the lamb is born, raised, and fully matured in Devon and Cornwall, supporting local agricultural heritage while helping to reduce carbon emissions associated with longer supply chains. The lamb is 100% forage-fed and reared on natural pasture, delivering exceptional flavour and quality.

Alongside this, we have introduced a vibrant vegetable-led starter to further celebrate seasonal British produce and bring additional balance and freshness to the menu. Overall, this approach reflects a positive shift towards food that supports both people and planet, highlighting provenance, seasonality, and ingredient quality to create a menu that is thoughtful, progressive, and rooted in a more sustainable food future.
REDUCED FOOTPRINT
We continue to reduce our footprint through a digital-first approach. Building on e-tickets and the removal of printed table plans, we’ve expanded the use of QR codes across the event, minimising print while improving accessibility.
REMINDER: Please download your e-ticket ahead of arrival to ensure smooth entry.

TRAVEL & ARRIVAL
We are encouraging guests to consider lower-impact ways of travelling to the Awards.
Returning this year, the Trainer Drop Off provides a simple but effective way to support those choosing to walk. By making sustainable choices more convenient, we hope to drive positive behavioural change.

REMINDER: If you plan to use the Trainer Drop Off, please bring a bag for your shoes.
THE ENTRY PROCESS
Sustainability continues to be embedded within the Awards judging process.
All entrants are asked to outline their sustainability strategy or initiatives as part of their submission, ensuring environmental responsibility remains front of mind across every category.
This isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress. By encouraging transparency and reflection, we aim to support organisations at every stage of their sustainability journey.
